Her son’s glue ear
“After many bouts of ear infections my son Julian had glue ear at age 20 months and could barely hear anything. The ENT consultant put him on a waiting list to insert grommets. I was faced with a child who could not hear, had stopped talking and had become very introverted. I found out about the OCC online and attended many appointments at the clinic for the next 2 months. Ben Katz was our therapist. He did a thorough medical history and examination, applied gentle manipulation to a scared and not always cooperating child and reassured us that the problem was treatable without surgery. We noticed a difference in Julian within minutes of treatment – he repeated a few words. By the time Julian was 2 years old his hearing had returned, he started saying more words and was not so introverted. We were very happy with Ben’s treatment and continued seeing him at the OCC for periodic maintenance for many months – especially when Julian was in the midst of a new ear infection. Julian never developed such debilitating ear infections afterwards.”

“A few months ago I myself went to see Ben. I had twisted both knees in separate accidents (which had inflamed them inside) and this affected my back and pelvis alignment. Ben listened to me for a long time and took a comprehensive medical history. He explained to me how everything is connected together including giving birth and falling on ice in my teens. He then had me lie down and proceeded to listen to what my body had to say – he barely touch my feet for 45 minutes. I really could not see how that was going to fix my knees. However within hours of my visit my left knee was back to normal, no inflamation and no swelling. It took another visit to fix the other knee, by the same treatment. Later on Ben proceeded to realign my pelvis (which had suffered during the birth of my children) and then relieved pressure from my back. During most of the visit he barely touched my feet or my pelvis. I could not feel the micro-movement he made at the time, but I did feel it a few days later. One other amazing thing Ben did is that he could feel the pressure in my teeth. I had been having problems with my teeth due to wisdom teeth coming out and there being no enough space. I had not told him about it. He knew this from touching my feet. It does feel weird to be treated in such a non-invasive, gentle and comprehensive way. It’s weird not to feel the manipulation as it happens. But it’s wonderful to realize the problems go away little by little.”
